Thank you for your interest in Births With Love Doula Service. I am Sybil Cooper, BSN, RN, CBS, Birth Doula. I have been practicing as a Registered Nurse since 2014. During my time as a RN, I have held many roles. I have experience in maternal and newborn care, NICU, well baby, pediatrics, lactation, and outpatient obstetrics. I was called to doula work many years ago when providing care to loved ones during pregnancy, labor, and birth. I finally decided to merge my nursing care with physical and emotional support of the birthing person in 2019.
So I’m sure you're asking yourself, what makes this Doula my doula?
As a mother, I thought of all the things that were missing when I birthed my three girls. The roadblocks that prohibited me from reaching my birth goals were the lack of knowledge provided to me by my healthcare providers and, most of all, other people's motives negatively impacted my birth experiences. Birth is a spiritual experience, far more than a simple physiological process. I am prepared and willing to walk through this journey, with you (and your partner) as we embark on parenthood. For some, this may be your first child, for others you may be on number 2 or more. Having the support of someone who is both knowledgeable and genuinely invested in you, your rights, and the importance of making informed decisions, can literally be the difference between life and death. Having someone you can trust is often the most important thing.
My goal is to grow a relationship with you, the birthing person, and uplift you in a way that you will trust that my intentions, as the person caring for you, will always be with you and your baby at the center of it all. My work is for you.
